Get set, Ready, GO!
A quick check in the mirror, an attempt to maintain my uncontrollably curly hair, a spit of polish on the high heels…the stressful moment of writing my first post has finally snuck its way in. Being new at this, I’m not sure how to properly introduce myself… As the aspiring columnist that I am, or the average university student, running wild and confused in the dorm hallways, an endless stack of papers piled on her desk?
I suppose one may describe my writing as a type of fictional or, if you prefer, amateur reporting on episodes of daily life. In my opinion, however, my articles are nothing more than spontaneous outbursts, as sarcastic and fairly witty phrases flow from the tip of my pen, onto the soft, white covering of the nearest sheet of paper.
Taking after my grandmother, I find it futile, if not impossible, to suppress a thought once it crosses my mind. Writing has become one of my most sacred of rituals, my one moment of peace, in which I may express all my desires and frustrations. I’m a day-dreamer, you understand, who attempts to carry this plume bohème along with me on my travels, through not only this world, but also the many I create. I hope to carry you with me as well as get your neurons working, as I ponder some of my own “life experiences” and other such themes. Light-hearted and straightforward, what I hope most of all, is that you will come to enjoy my articles and style of writing, as I mainly write to amuse a fresh batch of readers each time.
Thus, I present myself to you, one overflowing portfolio in hand, with bright green eyes and a timid smile. Carefully dipping my plume in the finest of ink, I am ready to write for your own entertainment.
Oh, wait! I almost forgot to say the most important thing…
